Fritom Group supports “Foundation Heart for Children”

“Heart for Children” helps orphans in Uganda by building a “childrensvillage”. This village gives the orphans a new home. Besides a safe home, the village also provides a school. The Fritom|Group supports the work of the foundation for several years now. In 2009 every Fritom company supported by means of a monthly contribution per child. This contribution is more or less symbolic. You contribute the group instead of a specific child. In this way the whole village benefits from our support.
The very poor local population also benefits from building this village. Wells are constructed, and by doing this not only the village but the whole surrounding is now ensured of clean drinking-water. Local people are contracted for building the village. Also the teachers are locals. Besides the orphans, the school is also open for the local children.
Beginning 2009 the first classroom was opened. 24 orphans have their new home in Osia. Now an additional 24 orphans have been given a home. The local builders and craftsmen are still working on new classrooms. Beside the local people, volunteers from America and Europe are building a second dormitory.
The “Heart for Children” project fits the Fritom group because it is an independent and autonomous organization without surplus overhead. Every Euro we give benefits the project.
The people from Heart for Children feel responsible and are inspired to put their effort into this project.
The contribution of the Fritom|Group is used for building a maintenance workshop for the village. Also with our financial support the building of the school started.
